Degree of change
The term 'degree of change' (or magnitude) refers the impact of an effect, such as a development. It may be described as High, Medium, Low, Negligible or None, and might be assessed by consideration of aspects of the development such as:
- Addition of features introduced.
- Changes to the landscape.
- Duration.
- Extent.
- Loss of existing features.
- Mitigation measures.
- Reversibility.
- Scale.
Cumulative effects are additional changes caused by a proposed development due to its combined impact in conjunction with other similar developments.
